Eric Millard
Eric Millard was born March 17, 1987, in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. He has been a resident of Olathe, Kansas for 20 years. Eric is a graduate of Olathe East High School and is currently a student at The Universty of Kansas. Eric sings with a “new country” and “pop” style and has been described by music educators as having “one of the most beautiful, natural tones of any student they have taught at the college and high school level”.
Eric was one of seven finalists in 2005 for the American Royal Superstar, where he showcased his versatility by competing with songs from the Pop, Country, Broadway, and Christian genres. As a finalist in this competition he was allowed to record a sample CD on which he sang “I Can Only Imagine”, in the style of MercyMe, and “When You Say You Love Me”, in the style of Josh Groban. The CD, although not for sale, has been a big hit with local friends and family, and the songs are showing up on numerous ipods within the community!
Eric has also competed and won a local talent show where he sang for over 500 people, received top superior ratings at district and state solo competitions, and was awarded talent scholarships in college to sing with the choir and the Madrigalia Elite 8. Eric was the lead singer in a local barbershop quartet, “Double Stuff”, that was runner-up champions at the 2005 Harmony Explosion in Kansas City, and has been invited to sing for various charity events, holiday parties, churches, weddings, and conventions.
